Here’s how things work when you don’t have the EPUBReader Firefox add-on by your side. You use the Firefox web browser to surf the web and find eBooks. Then you use the same Firefox browser to download eBooks to your PC. And last but not least, you use a dedicated software application to open and read the eBooks you downloaded.

Here’s how things work when you do have the EPUBReader Firefox add-on by your side. You use the Firefox web browser to surf the web and find eBooks. Then you use the same Firefox browser not to download them to your PC, but to open them directly within Firefox. Instead of using a dedicated application to open and read eBooks, you can use EPUBReader within your Firefox web browser.

All the eBooks you open are stored by EPUBReader in a catalog. Every EPUB file you find online, every local EPUB file you load into the Firefox web browser, they're all conveniently stored in EPUBReader’s catalog. Alongside your private library, this catalog provides access to online libraries: Archive.org, FeedBooks.com, and Gutenberg.org. Select Gutenberg.org for example and you can check out the latest releases, the most popular books, as well as random books.

Firefox runs on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. EPUBReader works with Firefox on Windows, Mac, or Linux. When you’re done installing EPUBReader, a Welcome page will explain how to use the add-on. EPUBReader is available in 23 different languages: English, French, German, Italian, and so on.

The EPUBReader add-on for Firefox is free software. If you find it useful, show your support by making a donation.

Thanks to EPUBReader you can read EPUB eBooks within your Firefox web browser. You do not have to install an eBook reader on your computer.

Pros

EPUBReader works on every operating system Firefox does. A Welcome prompt nicely explains how to use EPUBReader. Read EPUB eBooks within the Firefox web browser; manage a catalog of EPUB eBooks; open locally stored EPUB books, get EPUB books from online libraries. EPUBReader is free software (donations are welcome).

Cons

During my tests, the FeedBooks.com library refused to load.
